General Civil Practice
Contrary to popular television shows, litigation is plan old hard
work and always stressful for the client. To assure the best
results for my clients, at the initiation of each lawsuit, I
undertake the following:
1. I discuss with my clients realistic expectations;
2. I outline projected costs and timelines; and
3. I encourage my clients to be receptive to settlement.
Recently, I have handled the following types of cases:
- Real Estate title disputes and Real Estate Condemnations
- Disputes over Oil and Gas Operating Agreements
- Contract Disputes Over Sales of Goods and Services
- State and Federal Tax disputes
- Breach of Contract and Partnership Disputes
- Purchase Agreement disputes
- Contested Will Proceedings
- Pipeline Easement Disputes
- Commodity Contract Disputes
- Construction Contract disputes
- Insurance proceeds disputes
- Ownership of intellectual property disputes
- Regulatory hearings, including Railroad Commission,
General Land Office, Texas Board of Real Estate
Appraisers, Texas State Board of Medical Examiners,
and the State Office of Administrative Hearings
Many of these cases were resolved early, either through
negotiated settlement or the use of Alternate Dispute
Resolution (mediation). In those cases, the clients obtained
their realistic expectations and avoided lengthy time-consuming
and expensive litigation.
Getting the client the results they want - that is my goal in
litigation - not to try an "interesting dispute."

I am licensed to practice before all State and Federal courts in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Illinois.
